Literature Text
Fur as black as midnight,
He hides out in the gloom,
Not a creature can see him,
Until they meet their doom,
He waits patiently,
With claws as sharp as knives,
And eyes that see in the dark,
He's a powerful animal with nine lives,
As swift as lightning he pounces,
Trapping his prey with ease,
He toys with it and tosses it in the air,
He shows off to please,
Tired now he goes back home,
Meowing at the door,
He curls up to rest on the bed,
His prey left bleeding on the floor.
He hides out in the gloom,
Not a creature can see him,
Until they meet their doom,
He waits patiently,
With claws as sharp as knives,
And eyes that see in the dark,
He's a powerful animal with nine lives,
As swift as lightning he pounces,
Trapping his prey with ease,
He toys with it and tosses it in the air,
He shows off to please,
Tired now he goes back home,
Meowing at the door,
He curls up to rest on the bed,
His prey left bleeding on the floor.

Your Problems are Music
No sorry soul
Should drink fire
Just because they’re sorry.
Don’t expect solutions,
But you can fill me
With your world, too.
This is a two-straw-one-cup arrangement
Where the bill splits even.
Besides, I’m curious.

Mournings
The early morning is dark like the coffee. The hot milk waiting its turn. The mug, white and warm as I place it by the side of my face. That’s when the dog makes a soft muffled sigh, like he knows what I’m thinking. The first round drop sets, in my waiting eye. © LRO 2020

Angles of Light
That window which you look through Seems heavy, but the eyes You use to look with, set alight Each thing a thousand ways: Is dawn a bright mosaic? A bird in a gold tree? Disaster or a masterful Display of artistry?

I'm so glad I have inside cats and don't have to worry about bleeding presents on the floor.
I LOVE this poem, by the way! It's entertaining because it sounds like a panther at first, then we are surprised by the fact that it's just a house cat. AND you never ACTUALLY said "cat" or "panther". Awesome!!!!
