Literature Text

Fur as black as midnight,
He hides out in the gloom,
Not a creature can see him,
Until they meet their doom,

He waits patiently,
With claws as sharp as knives,
And eyes that see in the dark,
He's a powerful animal with nine lives,

As swift as lightning he pounces,
Trapping his prey with ease,
He toys with it and tosses it in the air,
He shows off to please,

Tired now he goes back home,
Meowing at the door,
He curls up to rest on the bed,
His prey left bleeding on the floor.

I'm so glad I have inside cats and don't have to worry about bleeding presents on the floor.

I LOVE this poem, by the way!  It's entertaining because it sounds like a panther at first, then we are surprised by the fact that it's just a house cat.  AND you never ACTUALLY said "cat" or "panther".  Awesome!!!!
